The Challenge

What’s cool to a child in year 1, is completely different for a child who is in year 7.

With the campaign targeted at a broad audience of primary school children, we needed to ensure that the visual identity would be appealing to all ages and encourage them to speak to their parents or guardians about taking alternative modes of transport to school, such as public transport, carpooling, cycling, skating and walking.

The Solution

Consulting with local schools, we developed a strategy and engaging visual identity (brand) for the overarching Active School Travel program as well as sub-programs (Bus It and Riding Rulz) to encourage the use of sustainable travel.

This included graphic design and illustration for a range of print and digital assets including posters, a letterhead, and a student planner, as well as designs for social media posts and a 3 minute animated video.

Bus-it

As part of the broader Active School Travel program, ‘Bus It’ focuses primarily on engaging and educating the target audience to take the bus, highlighting safety practices and promoting correct behaviours when travelling to and from school.

Our work extended across print and digital including strategy, copywriting, branding, character design, and illustration, as well as storyboarding and production for a 3 minute animated video.
